I’ve somewhat recently become familiar with the term “autistic burnout” myself. Can you share some more with regards to your statement - “only treating the cause will work.”

I’m sure that the cause may be different from person to person, but do you have any insights towards determining what that cause is? I am, and have been, in what feels like an eternal loop of feeling or being labeled as anxious, depressed, various ADHD symptoms, etc. and struggle more and more to determine what’s real, what’s a clouded effect of something different, and so on.

all to say, I’m stuck somewhere in this knotted ball of yarn and dont even know which thread is the real end to start pulling on, knotting it up even worse.

  • I’m not an admin or really THAT technically knowledgeable when it comes to underlying infrastructure of these things, but because you mention VPN users in reference to shared IPs - would it be worth considering and mentioning mobile users or users otherwise on CGNAT networks?

For example, TMobile Home Internet would result in multiple users being represented by a shared public IP. Maybe these exit nodes don’t have nearly the number of users under one IP in comparison to users behind a popular VPN services assigned IPs? I don’t know, but thought it might be relevant! I understand it’s also a tool geared toward combatting this spam and only so much can be considered against the improvement.

  • tailscale here as well. it’s honestly 2ezpz to set up, and that’s about it! this also allows you to access other services you may be hosting.

you can also specify an exit node that your traffic will route through if you are connected to your tailnet. for example, if you had a VPN client on your home router, you could set a PC on that network as your exit node and your remote traffic through tailscale would ultimately hit your home network and then out through your PC -> VPN -> Internet setup.
