11 days agoI picked up a Sony OLED with Google TV a few months ago and it’s been really good so far. The OS itself works really nicely even when offline and since it’s android you can switch out the launcher to something without ads if you ever do connect it.
When I I was shopping around I was surprised to find that Google seems to have the least invasive of the TV OSs. It’s more a statement of how bad the other ones are than how good theirs is though.
It’s used by a lot of social groups where I am and it’s hard to avoid if you want to join any kind of community. Other stuff could easily replace it but the inertia is strong.
