Sometimes state employees that deal directly with the public are encouraged to call people “customers”. I think it’s to reinforce the ideas of service and professionalism among employees, and to remind management to behave in a cost effective, businesslike way.

As far as I know, it’s not meant in a derogatory fashion. Still kinda weird, though.

Just a few years ago, this would have been a slam dunk. Now, I have to worry about Christian Nationalism making a major win. This country scares me.

That reply hurts, but just keep reminding yourself that it’s for oop’s own good. Sometimes, people need to hear painful truths.

So… all I have to do to ensure my right to privacy is spend several hundred dollars and make my car ugly as sin.

The platform later removed or emptied major AI channels and clarified that repetitive or “unsatisfying or off-putting” videos could be demonetized.

“Unsatisfying or off-putting” is a bit too vague for my tastes.

I was reminded of that, but then realized that reviewing ads is not the same as raw content moderation. It’ll still have some shitty moments, but it’s not the same as being forced to watch snuff videos.

How does this work? How reliable is it?

There is absolutely no excuse for such an immensely profitable company to not have a team of humans reviewing ads.

Maybe I’m naive and missing an important point. If so, I apologize for my ignorance.

Unfortunately, I have to agree.

A lot of people think of BMWs as an “aspirational car” that they actually have a chance of owning someday. Mechanically, they’re excellent cars. I’m disappointed that they keep doing things to cheapen themselves. Lately they’ve been acting like they’re owned by a private equity firm.

They did, and probably still do. It’s not a screen on the dashboard, though. They’re on the backs of the front seats, so anyone sitting in the back gets pestered.

I’m kinda curious about the stooges who did these things. Who would be stupid enough to commit crimes on behalf of a company? Did they seriously expect the company to go to bat for them if things went bad? They must have been drinking a LOT of eBay Kool Aid.
