Lovely site. Easy to follow, but I might be biased lol
I’ll be sharing this with others in my groups
Trying out piefed.zip.
This could be my main.
I am also @JayGray91@piefed.social on piefed.social, @JayGray91@lemmy.zip on lemmy.zip, @JayGray91@lemmy.world on lemmy.world, @JayGray91@fedia.io on fedia.io, and @JayGray91@kbin.earth on kbin.earth

I learned at a young age to not microwave sauce packets through practical self education. Good thing I was still there to notice

Don’t have to install anything. Some instance make it the default though, but I think most front end like Voyager or Alexandrite (or tesseract since we are discussing it) you can visit their web page and point your home instance to use their UI.
Edit; I’m copying a comment someone else made here https://piefed.zip/comment/6322459 since it’s pretty consise than what I explained 😅
It’s a frontend. So literally a skin to make a website look prettier and more organized.
Imagine a waiter starts telling customers what foods they are allowed to eat. He wasn’t the chef, the manager, the owner, anybody.
That’s how stupid it was.

It kind of is, considering it’s still an app of sorts, but using the web browser. I just keep using “front end” because that’s what others call it. I see it like an app. but yeah, it’s to change the UI if you don’t like the default lemmy UI.

Hmm. I learned something today. Thanks. I think.

bottom face/hands,
I usually don’t like to play the “English as second language” card, as I take great pride learning it, but I need to for this one lol. what does this mean?

It’s a front end to change the UI of lemmy, and others like lemmy. you can see some examples of others here: https://www.lemmyapps.com/ . Filter by web app to see some of the other popular ones.

I don’t really go on a blocking spree much. How would a front end’s block list implementation be different than the instance’s choice of software’s block list implementation?
I hardly browse All and Local. I am on a piefed based instance, and leave “Enable Automatic Follow of Feed Communities.” and “Enable Automatic Leave of Feed Communities.” on. So kind of my subscribed feed is semi automatic as long as I follow a broad topic.
That’s the way to go. it’s just a silly little nitpick that I have. I don’t go out of my way to make it a big deal lol
Yeah that’s fair actually. Idk why I’m still hung up on that scoring but what you’re saying is what I’m doing lol
I haven’t watched many shows or movies for the past decade willy nilly because of that.
Still weird to me that 3/5 is accepted as bad. It’s middle of the score; it’s average. I have plenty of 3 star movies I watched and I like it just fine.
But yes mostly nowadays I just watch with the right cat’s eyes lol

When the cybertruck was first announced, I actually appreciated how different it looked
Yeah, same here. I usually like weird looking forms for ordinary objects. The cybertruck counts.
Even disregarding the emotional association to Musk, which is nigh impossible, the engineering of the car makes it suck to hell, because that’s all Musk’s decision he forced.

It seems to be rolling out region by region I reckon. I’m in the south east Asia and I don’t get asked to log in yet.

I imagine authors will go to great lengths to prove their works to be authentically human
artists (the drawing kind) have been posting timelapse of them drawing art for quite some time. It has since increased when AI sloperators flooded the field. But now I’ve heard some aren’t even going to post them anymore, since the sloperators are training on those to make fake timelapse.
I might get a used pixel a series as a burner phone, and as a test for my country’s bank apps. I am aware that there are a lot of bank apps that do work on GOS, and sone of that are ones that operate in my country. But not all. If I can scrounge up the money for it, I’ll be sure to share my findings somewhere
So in the middle of this comment, I searched for such a list since I remember faintly there’s one, and found this: https://privsec.dev/posts/android/banking-applications-compatibility-with-grapheneos/
I’m happy to say that some of the biggest banking apps in my country has been reported to be work on GOS. fascinating.
