  • God fucking same. It’s got to be hard as fuck because I haven’t seen anyone able to do it. Pandora used to claim they were trying to do that with their music genome project but they just kind of never went anywhere with it and it slowly morphed into a shitty hidden algorithm just like every other place. To be fair though I find people are also terrible at it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked for recommendations for songs similar to one I really vibed with and the recs I get are literally nothing like the song. It’s especially bad in the various genres of techno. Recently I wanted a way to find acid techno, but like more acid, but there’s no words to describe that that will lead me to the music I’m looking for. Language sucks sometimes.

Yeah age perception for me has been more like this too. Like I stay the same age and 20 year olds get younger and younger. Which is comically opposite to what middle aged men said it was like when I was a kid. But looking back they were probably emotionally stunted man babies or predators.

  • I’ve never thought about it this way before but it makes a lot of sense. I definitely feel injustice as distinct from anger, to the point of having completely different physical sensations. Injustice to me feels like, idk kinda like I’m pissed off medusa. I feel it like the hair on my head all wants to stand up all at once and I feel this hard focus and a feeling I need to do something about it. Anger I feel much more in my face and chest kinda.

Which is wild because he hung out with engineers all the time and his best friend was an engineer. I’m an engineer with audhd and no joke I’m pretty sure like 90% of the engineers I work with are some form of neurodivergent. I know for a fact for like half of them because they told me.

Thr USA killed way way way more than 10 million native americans. We will never know the true scale of the genecide because the majority of it was done through disease. Early settlers would deliberately trade goods contaminated with several european diseases that the natives had little or no resistance to, including small pox and several others I can’t remember off the top of my head. Explorers moving west described “virgin” country untouched by man, beautiful and bountiful, but they were wrong. What they saw was an environment shaped over thousands of years by humans for humans that once supported hundreds of millions of native americans, who were mostly dead by the time european explorers got there. The genecide everyone knows about was really just the end, picking off the stragglers. That was bad enough that it’s whitewashed in public schooling, but they don’t even teach the history of the biological warfare that did the vast majority of the work. In many ways the americas still bear the gaping wounds of european contact today. This place is built on a foundation genocide.

  • This is kind of a bad faith black and white argument. No one is arguing for a draconian regulation of car designs. There’s already a system of regulations and review in place for certifying new car designs are safe and compliant with regulations, and the danger this design introduces in the event of an emergency should have prevented it from being certified safe for use. Any idiot can see with 30 seconds of thought that a car door you need power to open is inherently unsafe and will get people killed in situations where a manual door wouldn’t. It’s like arguing car manufacturers should be allowed to install a gun in the middle of every airbag that shoots the passenger in the event of a crash just because there’s no regulation specifically banning them from doing it. That’s not how the law works and it’s not how safety regulations work.

  • This kind of reads like a catholic who brought their kids to mass their whole childhood and disbelieves that catholic priests are child molestors because they never molested your child. They don’t prey on children with present caring parents who don’t leave their children unsupervised. They prey on solitary, neglected, vulnerable children, or for catholics those who are willing to trust a priest alone with them. In roblox it’s the same but without the implicit trust of an authority figure. The pedos probably avoided you. You didn’t somehow dodge the shady shit, you inadvertently created a bubble of safety that prevented your kids from being preyed upon because there’s so much easier prey around.

  • I don’t think you can sell a worker cooperative the same way you can a private business as a scum sucking capitalist because it would be extremely difficult to exploit a work force that suddenly is flush with cash and has no personal stake in the business any longer. They would only agree to sell the business collectively, and they would likely all bail as soon as the sale was finalized, leaving a bunch of manufacturing equipment with no one to run it. They could probably convince some dipshit venture capitalist or hedge fund manager to buy but they wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near the same price because a large part of the value to those assholes is the potential for future exploitation.
