I’m on hyperos and every time I have to touch anything pure Google I feel like I’m on a windows PC.

Don’t get me wrong, hyperos isn’t a pinnacle of freedom, but all I do with my phone is basically using Firefox and take photos (+ signal, & SMS) and use the lichess app.

It’s so infuriating, they steal our data, but just needs more. I’ll try a Linux FOSS system next phone.

I partly watched 1 “psychology” video, it was branded as Karl Jung so mebbe interesting, but it was some “intelligent people suffer more” bullshit, and now I have had to manually block over 10 channels of that type (9 signs a woman likes you, How to know someone takes advantage of you! etc etc) to just “get back” to being served only 4-5 of my 40+ subscriptions.

So IMO it’s worse than just serving me what I asked for…

Yeah I put a margin there :-) mostly because some years ago you could get good midrange phones but there was a lot of crap around too. I changed my like 5-6 old mid range (good one) for a 2 yo “flagship killer” (so not really a flagship) for the camera (Leika vs cheap crap :-) and well it’s scrolling a bit more fluidly… Yeah that’s about it.

It has more storage, ram etc, it’s close to my daily PC driver…

I’m finally okay with researching thinner phones, I feel like a modern phone has enough punch compared to just some years ago. Sure, a bigger battery would be nice, or a more effective CPU but it’s sincerely okay IMO.
