To be fair an F (0.0 points) is less than half of a D (1.0 points) as far as Grade Points are concerned so…. Kinda….

10·3 months agoThat’s before blood coagulants evolved, from a quick Google search… so… maybe it was not particularly needed and they still did suck on blood just… slower.

7·3 months agoHuh you know from a music perspective I know we can get a lot higher than 500hz but most speech is apparently around 1-300hz.

Hardware@lemmy.world•China bans its biggest tech companies from acquiring Nvidia chips, says report — Beijing claims its homegrown AI processors now match H20 and RTX Pro 6000DEnglish
12·4 months agoI mean yeah, GN did a whole movie on how easily available they are still, both for purchase or modding them to fit your needs. Link below. But yeah, this is pretty normal for China to try and keep cash flow within country. They wouldn’t limit themselves if they hadn’t caught up, but if they have now then it makes sense to try and stop cash flowing out by restricting to their version. Do it with apps and plenty of other things so it’s nothing new. Literally irrelevant that it’s export banned from the US.
Note: it is 3 hours… but it’s not a bad watch if you haven’t seen it and are interested.

Dull Men's Club@lemmy.world•I'm getting better at making pancakesEnglish
4·4 months agoI mean, apple sauce instead of egg works wonders. (Or banana if you like the flavor. Or pumpkin. Or plenty of things. Bob’s red mill makes an egg substitute that works fine too.) Make sure if you’re using baking soda you add some lemon juice or some acid of some kind to activate it (apple sauce generally does that but other egg subs won’t.)

15·7 months ago19/1000000 is not that bad. I mean Tesla didn’t do a recall and I’m certain their cyber trucks have a worse track record.
Saying something is more reliable than ass isn’t bad, it’s more him being surprised anker actually bothering to because plenty of companies have worse products that don’t get recalled.

1·7 months agoOkay I maybe exaggerated a bit, but a lot of people think it actually knows things, or is actually smart. Which… it’s not… at all. It’s just pattern recognition. Which was I assume the point of showing it can’t even beat the goddamn Atari because it cannot think or reason, it’s all just copy pasta and pattern recognition.

7·8 months agoIt can be an issue with the people starting these challenges while also being an issue with the way tiktok works with sharing these copycat videos on the platforms algorithm.
I don’t think “omg tiktok bad” but in the case of these dumb challenges, it is one of the few things I can see people actually pointing at when saying tiktok is bad, rather than “but china.”
