That’s a sinningia muscicola, its pretty compact, super cute, and is basically always in bloom

In water on a window-sill has worked in the past for me with that one. I make sure to cut close to the node, nor more than 1 cm under the node and I like to have at least 2 leaves on the stem. I leave the bottom node leafless. The window I put them on is south-east facing.

I found it to be pretty similar to other props, not too difficult to root. Mind you I usually prop in the spring time

When I started out I looked up plants on The Spruce and got tips from there. My first battle was moldy soil, but adding in some things to make it more airy eliminated that problem (I use 1:1:1 soil, pumice, and orchid bark these days).

I got a lot of tips from Reddit before I left with the whole API debacle. Honestly these days I just use Planta (phone app) and water/fertilize every week or two (or 3 or 4 if I’m feeling really lazy) depending on if the soil feels dry and Planta says it’s time.

Surprisingly it doesn’t have a smell! Pretty happy about that as some of my hoya flowers really stink.

Yep, I won’t be voting for them the next election. I voted to avoid a conservative government and feel like we ended up with one anyways. It’s very disheartening and I wish they would switch us to a ranked ballot or something like it.

I have too much stuff lol. I went semi-hydro for a bit so I have leca, bonsai mix, and zeolite (zeolite was a bag of ecotraction). I also bought some silica sand (i think it was a bag of pool filter? it was cheaper) to mix into soil to make carnivorous plant medium.

These days I mostly just use potting soil, cactus soil, perlite, and orchid bark. I prefer pumice over perlite since it doesn’t rise to the top when you water, but perlite is cheaper. I keep a bag of sphagnum moss for growing alocasia corms, though I’ve also used leca for that and it works well too.

I grew a bunch of succulents and a caudex plant from seeds in cactus soil, they did well (I also had fungus gnats at the time so I lost some to those).

my caudex plants now mostly live in a 1:1:1 mix of cactus soil (or regular soil if I’ve forgotten that I use cactus soil for them), perlite, and orchid bark. They’re all pretty happy.

It also opens up a whole other can of worms. What if they decide they don’t want to treat LGBTQ2S+ folks because of these religious values?

Even if they’re private they should still have to abide by legal medical practices. They shouldn’t get to pick and choose what procedures they morally agree with.

And federal employees are country wide so thats a lot of municipalities and a lot of tax-payer money.

This one hasn’t flowered yet but the flowers are super cool looking! it did put out a peduncle but it’s right on top of the soil so the buds blasted off before blooming

I wish our government would regulate this shit. Airlines shouldn’t be able to nickle and dime like this. Prices just keep going up 😒
