When I approached the Matthews Environmental Solutions booth, the vendors weren’t there. But behind a lone green chair, a large placard stated that the company was one of the “global leaders in waste incineration,” with over 5,000 installations worldwide. A photo of a large metal waste incinerator caught my eye, somewhat morbidly, because the website also said that the company offered “cremation systems.”…

Everyone else is already making those valid criticisms.

My point is is that they’ve gone full mask off now. If they cared about the moderates or fence sitters, they’d be saying “defense industry”.

More that I don’t trust Mark Millar and I’m sick of passive, bad ethics in main stream media. I’m sick of heroes that fight for the status quo and I’m especially sick of environmentalist villains. I can only imagine how pissed I would be if I was still watching Doctor Who when they aired their “The Interstellar Song Contest” episode.

The satire stuff rides along side the issues I have with it. The villains of the first two movies are libertarian boogiemen and the finer aspects of how the MC rises to a higher standing also matches libertarian ideas.

The action is fun and the characters and the dialog are good. Maybe they didn’t need to remind the audience that this isn’t Bond so much, but what the villains represent sets off red flags for me.

First Kingsmen had a lot of boilerplate Hero’s Journey stuff in it, but the second one where the villain was anti-marijuana set a pattern with the villains.

When the world government spy agencies fail, it will take a private option one to save the day.

The main character is from a low social standing family, but is discovered by said “private option” and uplifted. Normally, this is just Hero’s Journey stuff, but it matches perfectly with libertarian ideas.

I side eyed the extremist environmentalist villain in the first movie, but making the second villain anti-marijuana is more libertarianism.

I don’t find Mark Millar very interesting, but when someone about him does come my way, he comes across as a very simple minded person.

This is Israel propaganda. They’ve been twisting words to suite their needs this whole time. Why do you think they use the word “settlers” when what they’ve been doing would be called invading or colonizing if it was any other country. They have their heads so far up their collective asses they’re not even bothering to call it the “defense industry” or something softer.

“Weapon Industry” is the softest term they could come up for the military industrial complex?

If someone recommends me a movie with a regressive subtext, I’ll either assume they agree with it or are media illiterate. I loved the look of realization on people’s faces when I explained that Kingsmen was a libertarian morality tale.

The terrifying thing is, body cams probably did change how cops interact with people. They were that bad before. There’s also been a few times when a cop their forgets to turn off their body cam or arrives late and got in some trouble.

If you actually owned the car and the software on the car, then you could set the feed to be stored offsite somewhere. Even if the cops knew it was being recorded, they wouldn’t be able to get it deleted. Even if they deleted the local copy, they wouldn’t be able to know how many backups there are.

A camera that faces both the driver and front windows by default, but only stores it where the owner wants it stored would be nice. Making it a default would change how cops interact with people.

Not if the equipment gets unloaded in the black market.

Sony still seems especially bad about this. They fought for decades to have the dominant physical media format, from Betamax, to Minidiscs, to Memory sticks. They would eventually win with Blurays by selling the PS3 at a huge loss and now they want to abandon physical media?

360 was fine on paper, but the RRoD plagued it.
