I dunno man, I’ve got a coworker that swears looking at the sun is healthy “because that’s how you get vitamin D”… Says he looks directly at the sun every day. I have no idea how he doesn’t have vision problems, I just mostly assume he’s lying.
Can you elaborate? I thought hdcp was mostly about preventing piracy type of things, what does it do for this situation?
disappointed this isn’t the picture of the guy duct taped to a beam in the ceiling…
Did you mean predecessor, like the languages that came before it?
Ok boomer.
A heat pump still costs energy to run… And running it in reverse to cool a room is the exact same process as running an ac to cool a room. It’s all phase change cooling which we’ve been doing for decades. The only possible innovation that could be had here is using the waste heat instead of just releasing it to the outside environment, but that requires wanting to heat something else while you need to cool the server room.
So you’re saying to just let the servers get as hot as they want and ignore it? What is this heat pump going to be heating?
If you don’t have anything you are wanting to heat up, adding a heat pump doesn’t help.
Absolutely use it at least weekly. My partner has Bluetooth wireless earbuds and they are always a problem - dropping connection, short and inconsistent battery life, dying at inopportune times, etc. They don’t seem to even notice these issues because they’ve used wireless for so long, but it always drove me nuts everytime I tried switching.
Being as I’m forced to use outlook for work… At least it’s just my work persona they are tracking and selling? That guy is wild.
Scary thing is gen x is more likely to know how tech works than gen z is…
The problem with that is a vast majority of parents aren’t responsible anymore and rely on outside systems to protect and raise their kids. :(
Born in 85 and had the internet since “at least” 5 years old? How many people are you thinking had internet in their home in 1990…?
In 95 it wasn’t super common, and didn’t really even start to explode until after 98…
Also, people are even less tech savvy now than they were then. It’s becoming a real problem and is only seeming to get worse.
Super ethical… Just bundling a ton of Spyware in with windows and trying to lock down your hardware into their ecosystem even though it didn’t come from them… 🙄
Isn’t it more likely that the Intel cfo is just frothing at the mouth about the end of windows 10 support likely forcing people to buy new cpus that meet the windows 11 requirements?
Okay but what does it do with the energy from burning the fat?? Like, if you aren’t moving or doing anything you just have an excess of energy going where?
I wasn’t sure if it was that or if there was an inherent problem with manually disassembling lithium ion batteries, like high likelihood of catastrophic failure?
Could you explain further what you mean? For the, uhh, lay person reading over my shoulder…
They better fucking not be running on steam…
I made the leap 2 years ago on both my gaming desktop and laptop. Running Garuda Linux and have loved it. The only ‘hole’ I’ve run into is fusion360 - i just can’t figure out freecad and autodesk really don’t seem to want their software running under wine…
