I love seeing people make new Lemmy communities. It’s even better when people spread the word in places like NewCommunities, but it doesn’t help you much if you’re missing all the info (and the proper link).

TL;DR
The missile holding the warhead exploded but not the actual nuke itself:
A massive intercontinental ballistic missile – the Titan II – exploded inside the missile silo base in Arkansas. At the time, the missile was armed with a massive 9.5 megaton thermonuclear warhead.
Miraculously, the warhead inside the missile did not explode. It was, however, lost for about a day until it was discovered, nearly two hundred meters away from the missile silo. Fortunately for the workers near the site, and thousands of others surrounding the immediate area, the safety features encasing the nuclear warhead prevented a cataclysmic fissile reaction from happening, and prevented the leak of any radioactive material.
I’m sure the largest effect is from the shoulders moving, but I think it’s disingenuous to say it does nothing to the neck. Sure, the bones aren’t going to stretch themselves, but surely the cartilage/discs will stretch to some degree, right?
I looked up an x ray because none of the relevant articles had one
I’m far from an expert, but it seems that not only does it straighten and elongate the neck, but it also pushes down all the bones around your shoulders.

Was confused at first from the title, wondering how they found new victims (one of them being on the plane). The article is about how they identified the remains of two people recovered after 9/11.
Apparently there are still over a thousand victims still not identified. Roughly 1,100 out of the 2,977 victims have still yet to be identified 😟

My guess, and confirmed by another comment, is that the ai only flags posts for review. Then the moderators have to manually check the post.
Honestly, it’s not a terrible use of AI in my opinion. Considering posts practically never change, they really only have to scan each post once. The mod can either flag it as safe or remove it. They are probably just running image and text pattern recognition on previously banned posts to flag newly submitted posts.
What is the range of a device like this? Is there any chance of using a mesh system like that if you’re not in a city? I’m about 30 miles away from a few towns, so there’s little chance for repeaters to be nearby.
After all the other comments and recommendations, I’ll likely do something like that. Haven’t looked up Reatic yet, but Tailscale looks to be what I need.
This will be for long term storage of files like family photos and document safe keeping, i.e. “let’s dump all our important files here so we don’t lose them”. Two people writing to the same file will practically never happen.
Our needs are flexible in terms of how the backup is performed in the technical sense, so I would imagine any of the feature rich NAS units can do what we need in some way or another.
I def need a massive drive just for me lol. I have multiple drives loaded full of files including an 8TB drive.
We will likely read data from every location. That way people can access the data at full speed using WLAN
I’ll keep Syncthing in mind.
I’ll probably go with an all in one NAS just to keep things simple for the less tech savvy people of my family.
I can do both of those with Lemmy. Maybe it’s per app? Summit on Android allows both instance blocking and feeds.
