I do this sometimes but then I forget about it and then node_modules in each repo fills my SSD.

Does deleting the repo off disk and redownloading from remote considered recovering? If so I’m a git expert.

Interesting. Maybe they don’t want to be an application hosting site to non-developer types by making releases easy to use.
GitHub’s layout is strange to me. Why isn’t releases in the top nav bar with Code, Issues, PR, etc.

If this isn’t referring to the Git CLI that prompts the user for username and password for a GitHub remote repository and GitHub rejecting password auth, then disregard this rant.
Git and GitHub are two seperate pieces of software. Git is the local client that does all the work and can optionally sync with a remote repository that can be stored in GitHub or GitLab or any other compatible remote. When Git asks for a password to authenticate, it has nothing to do with GitHub. GitHub then rejects that authentication method that Git provided because it believes that the method is insecure.
I hate how accurate this is because I have done both of these things.
Would you rather Mongo or Excel over Postgres?
Depends on your ISP. In my case my IP hasn’t changed in the two years I’ve been with them so it was easy as setting up port forwarding in my router. Took a minute or two.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google's plan to restrict sideloading on Android has a potential escape hatch for usersEnglish
41·2 months agoSo when I install an app from Fdroid, it’s only “installing” if lots of other people do it? But if other people don’t use it as much it’s “sideloading”?
Only one of those is an errand though.
