4·2 months agoI just dont understand the point of a blockade to stop traffic from an area thats already had its traffic stopped? A couple ships have been allowed to go through the strait, but whats the effect of blocking those?
Arent a large portion of its population living in poverty in a country controlling all the information let in? Dont they have stores stocked with fake food that they guide tourists on to show them “see, we have food”
Arent those tours highly restricted? Arent Koreans that escape have their families threatened and tortured if the escapee doesnt return?
2·2 months agoMy best friend is running around in a 2004 Chevy gas guzzler because its what hes got. Hes been thinking about getting a hybrid or electric. Now that gas is $5 a gallon and his work commute is 30 minutes both ways hes getting pushed to change vehicles. He doesnt even like his SUV

Its not just FedEx, every shipping company made the buyer pay those tariffs, but that was standard procedure for years. The shipping company payed the dues at port, then made the buyer pay the shipping company back before the items are delivered. The customers sueing the shipper are sueing the wrong entity.

While true, Amazon has been running us around ever since we took them up. They gave us so much volume for such miniscule pay that UPS was paying extra on overtime and grievances that having the Amazon volume wasnt even worth it. Also UPS has a harder time cutting jobs due to the union. We’ve had i think 3 voluntary buyouts to get us to walk away, the last one was 150k straight up, for drivers.
